    Officiously tells you how someone acted: they in too , telling people what to do, in a way we do not like. A person might officiously tap your shoulder and send you to another queue, or officiously explain a rule you already know. The dislike sits inside the word; you do not need extra angry . It is a little formal, more at home in writing than in street talk, but the idea is everyday — someone taking charge of you when you did not ask. Same trap as officious: this is not a fancy adverb for officially.
