Oddments are leftover bits. After you a dress, the small pieces of cloth you did not use are oddments. After a sale, the last cheap mixed things in a box are oddments. They are small, not matching, and not worth much on their own. The word feels a little old and a little British; many people now say scraps, leftovers, or odds and ends. You will still see it for remnant fabric, or in a house-clearing: “a box of oddments”. It is almost always plural. We do not often speak of one oddment.
