An obstructionist is a person who tries to prevent or delay a legal or political process. The word is also an adjective: obstructionist tactics, an obstructionist senator. Same world as — parliaments, courts, meetings where delay itself is the weapon. It is a formal, often label; people rarely call themselves obstructionists. Though actually, in some systems a minority uses delay on purpose, and supporters may call that standing firm.
