The O2 is a huge entertainment place in Greenwich, in south-east London. The building is the old Millennium Dome — the white tent put up for the year 2000 — and the shows now happen inside that dome. It opened in June 2007. People go there for big concerts, sports, and a night out: there is a main arena (the O2 Arena), plus shops, restaurants, and a cinema. Londoners say “I'm going to the O2” the way people in Taipei say they are going to the 小巨蛋. The name comes from a phone company that paid to put O2 on the building.
