In British English, NUS is the National Union of Students: a big organisation that speaks for students at colleges and universities in the UK. It is not a school itself. It pushes for student rights — fees, housing, welfare — and also helps with cheaper travel, events, advice centres, and student cards. You will hear it on UK campuses and in UK news. In other countries the same letters often mean something else, so this UK meaning is local, not world-wide.
