The Nuclear Regulatory Commission: the US government body that watches over nuclear power plants and nuclear materials — licences, safety rules, and inspections. It does not build the plants; it checks they are run safely. You meet it in news about US nuclear energy, leaks, or new reactors. Other countries have their own regulators with different names; this one is American. Though actually, people sometimes treat 'the NRC' as if it ran nuclear power worldwide — it does not; the international body you may also hear about is the IAEA. Say N-R-C.
美國核管會(核能管制委員會)
