Nookie is a , informal word for sex. People use it when they want to name the activity with a wink — not a doctor’s word, and not a hard swear either. You hear it in light adult talk and old sitcom teasing; you would not put it in a school essay or a polite letter. Though actually, it already sounds a bit old-fashioned to many younger speakers, who may use other slang, or just say sex. It names the activity, not a person: you have nookie, you do not “meet a nookie.” Some people spell it nooky.

組成The origin is not certain. It may come from Dutch neuken, “to have sex.” Another suggestion links it to German Nuckel (a baby’s dummy) and nuckeln (to suck); that path is only a possibility.
