NJ is the written short form of New Jersey, a state on the east coast of the United States, next to New York. You see it on , maps, news headlines, and sports shirts — anywhere people need to save space. When you speak, you normally say the full name New Jersey. Though actually, Americans do sometimes say the letters “N-J” in casual talk, the way they say “L-A” for Los Angeles, but New Jersey is still the usual spoken form. It is a place name, not a new English word.
紐澤西(美國州名縮寫;臺灣說「紐澤西」,中國大陸較常寫「新澤西」)
組成The first letters of New and Jersey.
