- 1分期付款（英式口語）
If you buy something on the never-never, you take it home now and pay a little bit every week or month, for a long time. It is British informal talk for what shops call hire purchase or instalments. Though actually, the joke in the name is a bit dark: ‘never-never’ suggests you might never finish paying, so you never quite own the thing. Older speakers in Britain are more likely to say it; younger people may say on finance or in instalments instead. It is not American English. It is also not the same as Never-Never Land in Peter Pan, a made-up place, and not the same as the Australian Never-Never, which can mean the far empty . Those are different uses of a similar shape.
