Nassau is the capital city and main port of the Bahamas, on the northeast coast of New Providence Island. Ships, tourists, and much of the country’s business pass through it. In English it is a place name, said like NASS-aw. There is an older German town also called Nassau — the Bahamian city was named after that one — and you may also meet Nassau as a county in New York; those are different places that share the name. For geography class and travel English, this word means the Bahamian capital.
拿索(巴哈馬首都)。中國大陸多寫「拿騷」。
組成Borrowed from German Nassau, from German nass (“wet”). The Bahamian city is named after the German one.
