Napalm is a thick, sticky stuff made from petrol. When it is set on fire it holds on to what it touches and keeps burning. The US army used it in bombs, especially in the Vietnam War, to burn fields, forests, and villages. People also use it as a verb: to napalm a place means to attack it with this burning stuff. In ordinary talk it is not a calm chemistry word — it calls up war and burning, so speakers often say it with a heavy feeling. It is still a real substance, but in the news and in history class it almost always means that wartime weapon. Though actually, it is not the same thing as Agent Orange, which the US also used in Vietnam: that one was a plant poison, not a burning jelly.
組成A blend. The first half comes from naphtha / naphthenic (oily stuff; the name goes back through English naphtha, Latin naphtha, and Greek náphtha). The second half comes from palmitic (a fatty acid named from palm). Together they named the thickened petrol jelly.
