核心畫面

You can think of myself as a little mirror placed on the word 'I': it points the action right back at the same person who started it. I hurt myself — the and the one hurt are one and the same. Every other use is a tilt of that mirror: turned up to stress 'me and nobody else', or turned to mark the edge of a circle that holds only me — alone, , or with something all to me.

Three branches

動作反射回我自己

最核心的鏡子用法:我做的事又回到我身上,做的人和承受的人是同一個。

reflexive: myself · pronoun · A2

The word 'I' use for the same person as 'I' — when my own action comes back to me.

我自己

強調就是我本人

把鏡子往上一翻當強調用:不再是動作反射,而是用來重重指著「我」這個人——是我,不是別人。也包含在 like/as/except 後頂替 me 的用法,仍是指向「我這個人」。

emphatic: I myself · pronoun · A2

Used next to 'I' or after the verb to make it clear that it was me, and no one else, who did it.

我親自;我本人

只圈住我一個的圈

把鏡子轉成一條界線,畫出一個只裝得下「我」的圈:圈裡沒別人(獨自)、沒別人的手(沒人幫)、東西全歸圈內(獨享)。都是「範圍縮到只剩我」的同一個畫面。

by myself (alone) · pronoun · A2

On my own, with no other person there — almost always in the phrase 'by myself'.

(by myself)我獨自
