    A Munro is a mountain in Scotland that is 3,000 feet high or higher (about 914 metres). use it as a sport word: there is a famous list of them, and people try to climb every one. That hobby is called Munro-bagging. Though actually, the number on the list has moved a little as remeasure peaks, so think of the Munros as a named set, not as a scientific type of mountain. Outside walking and climbing talk, many English speakers have never heard it.
