- 1
Used of a window that has those upright bars between the of glass. You nearly always hear it in front of window or windows: a mullioned window. Old houses and churches often have them; a big sheet of modern glass usually does not. The word is just mullion with -ed on the end, so it describes the window. It is not the name of the bar itself — though actually the two are so tightly tied that people sometimes blur them.
