A mudpack is a thick, soft paste — usually clay, not garden mud — that you spread over your face, leave for a short time, and then wash off. The idea is to clean the skin or make it feel tighter. It is a slightly old-fashioned word: you meet it in older books, spa menus, and beauty ads from an earlier time. Today most people say clay mask or just face mask. Though actually, the “mud” is a special mix made for skin; nobody is meant to scoop it from a riverbank.
