Mostar is a city in , in the south of Bosnia and , in southeast Europe. It sits on the Neretva river. Its most famous sight is the Stari Most, an old stone bridge high over the water. The city was badly hurt in the war of 1992 to 1995; the old bridge was destroyed, then later rebuilt, and many visitors come to see it now. In English you use Mostar as a place name, like or Paris — people do not translate it when they talk. You write it with a capital letter because it is a proper name.
莫斯塔爾(波士尼亞與赫塞哥維納南部城市,以舊橋著名)
組成Borrowed from Serbo-Croatian Mostar, which literally means “bridgekeeper” — the town of the people who kept the bridge.
