- 1
In the old King Arthur stories, Mordred is the evil knight who turns against Arthur. In some tellings he is Arthur’s son; in others he is Arthur’s nephew. He tries to take Arthur’s land, and Arthur kills him in a last battle (often they destroy each other). He is the traitor inside the court — the one who brings the kingdom down from within. You will also see the older spelling Modred. He is a character in legend, not a title or a job.
莫德雷德(亞瑟王傳說裡叛變的騎士)
組成An alteration of Modred, from Latin Modredus, from Proto-Brythonic *Modrọd (whence Old Breton Modrot, Old Cornish Modred, Old Welsh Medraut), perhaps from Latin Moderātus.
