    Moray is a county in northern Scotland, with a coast on the North Sea. People also use the name for the wider area: its towns, , and the Moray , the arm of the sea along that coast. It is a place name, so it takes a capital M. In English it is usually said like MUR-ee, not mor-AY. The same spelling without the capital, moray, is a different word — a kind of eel — and that is not this entry.
