Moorish describes the Moors — Muslim people from North Africa who ruled much of Spain for centuries. We use it most about their art and buildings: horseshoe arches, rich tiles, courtyards, as in the palaces of southern Spain. A Moorish design is in that style, even if it was made later or somewhere else. The word is about history and culture, not about a marsh or a moor. It is usually written with a capital M, because it comes from a people's name. In ordinary talk it is a fairly educated word; you meet it in museums, travel writing, and architecture.
