Moisture is water in small amounts — in the air, in a substance, or on a surface. You cannot usually see it as a . Desert air has almost no moisture. Plants die without moisture in the soil. A cream tries to hold moisture in the skin. Weather reports talk about moisture when they mean “there is water hiding in the air.” Though actually, moisture is not rain you can watch, and it is not a flood. It is the quiet water. People sometimes stretch the word in jokes, but that is play, not normal use. In shops and bathrooms, lock in moisture is a set phrase on cream bottles.
