A microsite is a small website that sits beside a bigger one. It has its own internet address, so it is not just another page on the main site — it is a little site of its own. Companies build them to talk about one product, one campaign, or one event, without changing the big home page. Though actually, people use the word rather loosely. Some so-called microsites are really just a special-looking section, and some are fully separate. The micro- does not mean the site is ; it means it is small and focused next to the parent site. It is a work and marketing word, not a word you need for chatting with friends.
微型網站(行銷上常直接說 microsite)
組成micro- (“small”) + site (here, a place on the web; site goes back through Middle English and Anglo-Norman to Latin situs, a place). From micro- + site.
