Mescaline is a drug that comes from a , especially the one called peyote. It makes people see, hear, or feel things that are not really there, and it can change their sense of time and colour. It is a hallucinogenic drug, talked about in science, history, and some writing about the 1960s. Some Native American religious ceremonies have used the for a long time; in most countries today, including Taiwan, mescaline is a controlled drug, not something you buy as medicine. The word is technical: ordinary talk more often says a hallucinogenic drug or names the plant.
