Memorabilia are things you keep or collect because they belong with a famous person, a big event, or a time you care about. Think of a signed ball, an old concert poster, a badge from an election, a programme from a World Cup. In careful English the word is plural: “the memorabilia are in that cabinet,” not “a memorabilia.” Though actually, shops and websites often treat it as one mass of stuff, like “Elvis memorabilia,” without counting the pieces. Collectors use this word a lot; ordinary families might just say “old things” unless the things are about someone famous. It is not quite the same as a memento. A memento is usually small and personal, for you. Memorabilia can be personal too, but the hook is the famous link, and people often collect them as a hobby — or even as something that might be worth money later.
