Melodramatically is how you do that extra, play-like, over-the-top emotional thing. Someone may melodramatically, throw up their hands melodramatically, or speak melodramatically. People often say it with a small smile, as if to mark that the reaction was larger than the moment. Same idea as melodramatic, only used with a verb.
