McDonald’s is the famous fast-food company that started in the United States and now has restaurants in cities all over the world, including Taiwan. You go there for hamburgers, fried chicken pieces, French fries, and sweet drinks; children often care as much about the toy with the meal as about the food. The yellow “M” on the building is easy to spot. People use the name for the company, the restaurant, and sometimes the food itself: “Let’s get McDonald’s.” It is informal, everyday talk.
