    Mammary means “to do with the breasts”, almost always in a medical or science voice. The phrase you will meet is mammary : the part of the body that makes milk. Doctors, biology books, and health use it; friends talking about the body usually say breast, not mammary. It can also be used as a noun in that same technical world, but will nearly always see the adjective. It is calm and clinical, not rude and not poetic. You would not say “mammary” to mean a person, and you would not use it as a casual compliment or insult.
