If如果 a place, a job, or a group一個地方、工作或團體 is male-dominated是male-dominated, most of the people in it裡面大部分的人是 men男性, or或 men男性 hold most of the power掌握大部分的權力. It它 does not mean不是說 men are better at the work男性比較會做這份工作. It它 only只 says how the group is filled說明這個群體的組成, and和 who is in charge誰在掌權.
You will hear it a lot in news and in talk about fairness at work; it is a clear, modern phrase, a little careful but not stiff. Though actually, people sometimes stretch it: a field can still be called male-dominated even when a few famous women sit at the top, if the rest of the room is still mostly men.
