In the Christian story, the Magi are the wise men who followed a star and brought gifts to the baby Jesus. English speakers also call them the Three Wise Men, and some churches say the Three Kings. The Bible names three gifts — gold, , and — so later tradition said there were three visitors and even gave them names. Though actually, the Gospel never says there were three men, and never calls them kings. Magi first meant learned men, often of stars, from an old Persian class. At Christmas, this is the story-word you want. One such man is a magus; Magi is the plural, used here as a name for that group.
組成From Latin magī, the plural of magus, from Ancient Greek mágos (a magician, or a Zoroastrian priest). English Magi is that plural used as the name of the Christmas visitors.
