組成From the genus name Macadamia, coined in 1857 by the German-Australian botanist Ferdinand von Mueller, in honor of John Macadam. His surname Macadam / MacAdam is Scottish Gaelic Mac Àdhaimh, mac “son of” + Àdhamh “Adam”; the nut is named after the man, not after Adam the biblical figure.
