The M25 is the that makes a huge ring around London. Some road signs also call it the London Orbital — orbital here just means “going around.” It does not take you into the middle of the city; it sits outside, so drivers use it to pass from one side of London to the other without crawling through the centre. British people know it, almost as a joke, for traffic jams: long lines of cars that stop moving, especially in the morning, in the evening, or after a crash. “Stuck on the M25” is a very ordinary British complaint. Like the M1, this is a name, not a general word for every ring road.
M25(倫敦外環高速公路;路牌上有時寫 London Orbital)
組成M is the British label for a motorway; 25 is this road’s number. Orbital on some signs just means it goes around London.
