1. 1

Lycra is a fabric that stretches and then snaps back, used for clothes that need to hug the body — cycle shorts, dance wear, , leggings. The name was made up to sell the cloth; it does not come from an old English root. Though actually, many people say lycra for any cloth of that kind, even when the label says something else, the way a brand name can become the everyday word. More careful English may say elastane or spandex for the fibre itself. Because it began as a brand, it is often written with a capital L, but you will see it in lower case in casual writing.

    萊卡。品牌名,台灣也常拿來統稱彈性運動衣料;對岸較常說氨綸。
