The LPO is the London Philharmonic Orchestra: one of London’s big, full orchestras, the kind with strings, woodwind, brass and percussion, playing concert music. “Philharmonic” in a name just means a serious orchestra that loves that kind of music; it is a name, not a different species of band. The LPO gives concerts, makes recordings, and sometimes plays for opera or ballet. It is not the only famous orchestra in London, and it is not the same group as the LSO (London Symphony Orchestra) — two names, two orchestras, two diaries. People say each letter, L-P-O, or they say the full name.
倫敦愛樂樂團(愛樂=philharmonic;和「倫敦交響樂團」LSO 不是同一團)
組成initialism of London Philharmonic Orchestra
