- 1lose out (not get your share)吃虧、錯失機會
To not get something good that other people get, or that you should have got. Two little patterns carry it: the winner takes 'to' ('lose out to bigger companies') and the thing you miss takes 'on' ('lose out on the fun'). No object on its own.
