To lollop is to go along with long, loose, rather steps — the way a big puppy runs, or a person who is not trying to look neat. There is bounce and flop in it. It is not , and it is not a sprint. The verb is informal and rather British-sounding. You meet it in stories more than in offices, and it is not very common now; many young speakers would say bound, or run , instead. It can describe animals as easily as people. The tone is often fond: lolloping is funny and physical, not a harsh judgment. A person can lollop down a hill; a hare can lollop across a field.
