    A loganberry is a soft fruit, dark red, a little like a raspberry that grew longer and a bit more tart. You eat it fresh, or cooked into jam. It is much less famous than strawberry or raspberry, so many English speakers only know the word from recipes or tests, not from the shop. Though actually it is not simply “a big raspberry”: an American grower named Logan made it by crossing raspberry and blackberry, and the name is his name plus berry. In Taiwan you will rarely see it on a stall; treat it as a fruit-word you read more than you buy.
