A liturgy is the fixed set of words and actions used in a church service — the order of prayers, readings, and songs that a church follows, especially in more traditional churches like Catholic or Orthodox ones. Some churches follow a liturgy very closely every week; others (especially many Protestant churches) keep things freer and less fixed.
