Liquor is a strong alcoholic drink, like whiskey, vodka, or rum, made by a special process that makes it much stronger than beer or wine. In American English, a 'liquor store' is a shop that sells these strong drinks (and often beer and wine too). The word can sometimes also be used more generally for alcoholic drinks.
