    A line-out is how a Rugby Union game starts again after the ball has gone off the field at the side. Players from the two teams stand in two lines, and one player throws the ball in straight between them. Others jump, and teammates may lift them, to catch it. It is a sports word: you meet it in rugby, not in daily talk. Though actually, it is not the same as a throw-in in football (soccer), even though both put the ball back into play from the side.
