A life-size picture, statue, or model is the same size as the real person or thing. Stand next to a life-size horse, and it is as big as a living horse. Museums, film studios, and shops use it for models and cardboard figures. You can also say life-sized; both are fine. Though actually we do not call a living person “life-size” — they already are. And larger than life is not a measurement in metres: that phrase means someone feels big, famous, or dramatic. Life-size is about real size, usually of a copy.
life-size 用來形容圖片、雕像或模型的大小跟真人或真物一樣，例如「a life-size horse」站在旁邊，就跟真馬一樣高大。博物館、電影片廠和商店很常用它來指模型或紙板人偶。這個字也可以多加一個字尾，寫成另一種形式，兩種都對。
活人不會被叫做等身大，因為他們本來就是真人大小。另一個說法「比真人還大」，指的是一個人很有個性、很引人注目，不是在講尺寸。這個字說的通常是某個複製品的大小，而不是人本身。
