Here, liberated describes someone who feels free to live, dress, work, date, and speak as they choose, and who will not let old social and sexual rules run their life. It became common with Women’s Liberation in the 1960s and 1970s, so older writing often says “a liberated woman.” Some people still wear that with pride. Though actually, to other ears it now sounds a little dated — as if freedom were a special extra for women, or as if the speaker were patting her on the head. The same spelling has a war meaning (a city liberated from an occupying army). That is not this sense; this entry is the social one.
