    A lens is a curved piece of glass or plastic that bends light — used in glasses, cameras, microscopes, and telescopes to help you see things more clearly, closer, or bigger. It's also used as a metaphor: 'to look at something through a certain lens' means to look at it from a certain point of view — 'She looks at every problem through the lens of her own experience.'
