1. 1

Leavenworth is a town in Kansas, in the United States. If an American says the name on its own, they often mean the prison, not the streets and shops. There is a famous federal prison there, and also Fort Leavenworth, a big army post; people mix the two in talk, and both sit in the same area. Saying someone was sent to Leavenworth is a grim, slightly old-fashioned way of saying they went to that prison. The town is real and has ordinary life as well, but the name carries the prison with it in the national ear. There are other places called Leavenworth in the US; this entry is the Kansas one.

組成Probably first a family name, from a lost or unidentified place in England. The American town was named from that surname. The pieces look like English leaven and worth, but that is not a meaning you should unpack here.
