Laudably tells you how someone acted: in a way that deserves praise. It is the adverb from laudable. If a person tries in a good, honest way — even when the ending is not perfect — you can say they acted laudably, or that they laudably stayed to help. The same soft shade as laudable is here: we often use it for credit given to the try, not a prize for a clean win. It is formal. In easy talk, people say to their credit or in a way you have to admire. Use laudable before a noun (a laudable effort) and laudably with a verb (she laudably tried).
