Kiwanis is a US volunteer organisation whose members meet to help their own town — raising money, running projects for children, doing charity work. There are clubs in many countries now, but the heart of the idea is small-town America; you will hear the name in the same breath as Rotary and Lions. A member is usually called a Kiwanian. Some books say Kiwani, but that is not what members typically call themselves. The word is a proper name, so it stays Kiwanis in English; it is neutral and respectful. You do not use it for just any charity.
國際同濟會(和扶輪社、獅子會同類的慈善社團)
