A kitchenette is a very small kitchen — not a full cooking room, but a little area or tiny room where you can make simple food and sometimes eat it too. You meet one in a small flat (especially a studio), a hotel room, or an office: somewhere people only need to boil water, heat lunch, or cook an easy meal. It usually has a sink, a small fridge, and a microwave or , not a big and rows of . The word is ordinary and practical, a bit more at home in American English; in Britain people often just say a small kitchen or a kitchen area. It names the space, not a piece of furniture.
