Kitchenalia means the pots, tins, tools, and other bits that belong in a kitchen — but it is not the ordinary word for “kitchen tools”. People who collect old things use it: enamel bread bins, hand whisks, advertising tins, jelly moulds, that sort of object. You will meet it in antique shops and lifestyle writing, not in a recipe. It is formed like paraphernalia: kitchen plus a Latin-sounding ending that means “the stuff around this”. Though actually, the word already leans toward the past; a brand-new plastic spatula is kitchen equipment, but it is not what people are usually pointing at when they say kitchenalia.
