Kingly means good enough for a king, or like a king in manner — grand, proud, generous, or calm and commanding. You can speak of a kingly gift (a very rich one), a kingly feast, or a kingly way of walking. Though actually, royal is the word people use now for things that belong to a king or queen: the royal family, a royal palace. Kingly is more about the feeling or quality — dignity and splendour — not about a real palace or a passport. It is a little . You will meet it in stories more than in street talk. It can also be used, less often, as an adverb: to behave kingly, in a kingly way. The ending -ly here is the same kind you see in friendly or motherly: it makes an adjective from a noun, not only an adverb from an adjective.
