Kinetic means “about movement” or “caused by movement”. You meet it most in science. Kinetic energy is the energy something has because it is moving — a rolling ball, a running person, a flying plane. A still object may have other energy stored in it (often called potential energy), but it has no kinetic energy until it moves. Artists also talk about kinetic art: sculptures that actually move, with motors, magnets, or wind. The word sounds technical. In ordinary chat people just say moving or about motion. Scientists and designers use kinetic when they want the precise label. It is an adjective, so it needs a noun: kinetic energy, kinetic sculpture, kinetic theory.
