This is a very offensive insult for a Jewish person. Do not use it. Do not use it as a joke, and do not repeat it to sound tough. It is hate. In the early 1900s, German-American Jews first used it about Jews arriving from Eastern Europe; later, other people used it as a general insult for any Jewish person. The leading origin story is kaykl, “circle”: some immigrants who did not write English signed papers with a circle instead of an X, because an X looked like a Christian cross. Though actually, that story is the main guess, not a fact everyone agrees on — and the hurt the word does does not wait on the guess. There is also a rare verb, equally ugly; you are unlikely to meet it. If you have to talk about the insult, say it is a hateful word for a Jewish person, and leave this word itself out.
組成Most likely from Yiddish קײַקל (kaykl), “circle.” German-American Jews first used it about Eastern European Jewish immigrants to the United States. The circle-signature story is the dominant theory; it is not certain. Some writers then tie it all the way back to older “circle” words; that chain is a perhaps, not a sure family.
