Keno is a casino numbers game. You choose some numbers on a ticket or a screen; a computer (or a drawing machine) then picks a set of winning numbers, and you win money if enough of yours match. It feels closer to a lottery than to cards: you are guessing what will come up, not playing a hand against other people. Casinos like it because it is quick, quiet, and easy to run at a bar or on a machine while people wait. It is informal gambling vocabulary — you will hear it in American casinos and in some Asian ones, much less in ordinary school English. Though actually, people often describe it as 'like bingo', and there is a family likeness (numbers, a draw, prizes), but bingo is usually a social hall game with a caller; keno is more of a ticket-and-payoff game, and the depends on how many numbers you matched, not on shouting 'bingo'.
組成From French quine, a word for a set of five winning lottery numbers. English kept the idea of a number-draw game and reshaped the word into keno. It does not split into English pieces you can hear.
